surprise

wow. I just realised I've missed blogging.
I was reading all my posts again, and I really felt like I need to get back into this little online world again. It's just... I don't like the blog any more. The title, the layout. Now that I have time, I'll probably give it a make-over. Maybe I'll even start a new blog. You'll hear from me about that.
Maybe I want to include my Paris adventure in my blog, too. Because I'll be having a Paris adventure soon; I'm going to Paris in my gap year, baby. I just decided I'm leaving in January.

Anyway, I don't have any outfit photos to post yet, so I'll just give you, three-readers-per-day, some of my holiday pictures. My sister made them with her brand new Nikon.

ooooohhh! thunder and lighting!
and rain. and a sudden breeze.

A perfect moment to look back on one's holiday in Normandy.

noooooo I just discovered the pictures of our holiday are not on my computer. I'll try again tomorrow.

it's been a while, I know

Ahh, good to see people do see my blog after all... 3 pageviews per day seems to be the max though, ha ha. Well, luckily the pressure to post is not too big, for I'm in my exams right now AND we still don't have a new camera! gosh, this is getting exhausting.
I'm listening to the Noisettes. you should look them up on youtube, they're great.

Iris Apfel

Getting old freaks me out. Really. I work at the library in Velp three times a week, and every day so many old people come by. They mostly seem so helpless to me. They must all be in pain or something. They complain about their grandchildren never visiting them, or their reuma and they have a really hard time trying to understand the digital library system.
I don't want to get old like one of those women from Velp. I never ever want to be in an old peoples home. I want to be like my auntie Marga, who lives in an apartment in Amsterdam. She's 85 and she still goes to festivals and shops her clothes at American Apparel. And I want to be like Iris Apfel, who is a great source of inspiration to me. I read a few interviews and articles about her, and she's so lively and strong and stubborn and expressive, even at the age of ninety! Sighhh.

Who's afraid of red, white and blue?

nooooooooooooooooo tomorrow I'm having my Fast Lane oral exam. You may have noticed I have not been posting a lot lately, well now you know why: I'm preparing for my bloody exams. Fast Lane is a sort of Extra English class, and I'm freaking out because this oral exam is going to be difficult, I just know. Wish me luck!
And it just rains all the time, I get sick of it. I want to go to Paris badly, and sit on a terrace in the sun. Which is what I'll be doing next year. University can wait, right? I'll work as an au pair or something, it doesn't matter, Paris is my grande rêve. Oui, c'est ça.
Today I was wearing New Look shorts, a H&M blouse that has been my best spring buy ever, a Primark belt, a vintage bag and my grandma's ring.
oooohhh by the way I should tell you my photographs won't be of great quality for a few weeks, because our good old camera was stolen last friday, together with a laptop and my ticket for a lovely party in my hometown :( but we'll buy a new camera soon, I hope.
Talking about parties, queensday is nearly there! That's pretty much my favourite day of the year: the evening before is just party and the day itself is market everywhere. The kind of market where you can buy nice vintage clothes and other secondhand stuff. I LOVE IT.
Lastly I have a question, or actually two.
1. which webshop sells 40 den. tights that don't get ladders in two days?
2. I have used picnik.com for editing my pictures but it's closing tomorrow. Anyone knows of a nice alternative?

college rough versus Jane Austen

Yesterday evening, I decided to watch Pride & Prejudice again. The one with Keira Knightley. It must have been about the fifth or maybe sixth time I've seen it but it's just my bloody favorite movie, I can't help it. It gets better every time. At the end of this film I always feel very happy and warm inside. Yesterday, I got some inspiration for a hairdo too. Elizabeth's sister Jane has her hair all curled and twisted in a very romantic and careless way. So I thought I might as well give it a try. I really like it on this sort of college look with a bow! The pull-over is my dad's. He just doesn't seem to notice I've been stealing his stuff for weeks. The jeans is a second-hand Zara, the white shirt is from H&M. Both the owl necklace and the shoes are from shops I forgot the name of.

Today I tried some things for a new lay-out, I must make it slightly more personal I think. This is the result of today's hard work. I quite like it, though the picture's rather dark.

I Am Ginger Now. sort of.

The belt from primark. It broke yesterday, but I still love it

whoooo. I am just not good at face-posing with my mouth shut. I tend to look rather sheepish. Maybe it's my eternal optimism, that cannot simply be wiped from my face.
However. I did it! I dyed my hair, well, red. reddish. copper-blonde. It's just... nobody notices!

Oh, by the way! The blouse is a kind of DIY, it used to be a playsuit I got on the Queensday market but it looked terrible on me so I cut the bottom off and made it fit (it was toooooooo wide) and now I wear it very often! The cardigan is from new look. Vintage jeans and H&M shoes.
